I created the sketch you see here in 2015 in the midst of my most difficult battle with depression. Using art and design as a therapeutic outlet to cope, I created this comedic play on my then-current state of mind. Over the years it has seen a few iterations, but the concept came from a really personal place, and the right opportunity to make it into something never really came up. After posting the most recent iteration on social media, I was approached by my old friend, Vince. Together we came up with what you see here.
We didn’t want to create a product just for the sake of creating a product. This particular design has always been more to me. So, we came up with a way to do that, and also give back to a cause that is very close to us. I wouldn’t be here without the help I received from the people around me during my hardest years. I know we aren’t all lucky enough to have people around us that can help or who will even know we need help. There are resources all around us. We will be donating 50% of all profits towards suicide prevention.
